Mount Vernon Holiday Parade!

We have people and community at the heart of our cooperative values at Skagit Farmers Supply.  Another example of how our people engage our communities happened this holiday season, as our team from our Mount Vernon Country Store decorated our mascot “Aslin” on a holiday-themed float and marched in the city’s holiday parade!

Store manager, Danica Lisle-Crawley, and her team used all of their holiday spirit to have one of the most beautiful floats in the parade!  Aslin is always a hit in parades; he makes appearances at events from Oak Harbor to Stanwood, and from annual events in Spokane to the 4th of July Parade in Sedro Woolley. However, this is the first time we’ve lit up in this type of holiday glory!

We even had 4-H youth club members join us in the parade!  Our co-op educates and promotes ties to agriculture across generations, and our stores interact with many customers that are living a lifestyle that is a return to our rural roots.  Many of youth club members are learning how to raise animals, and to grow fruits and vegetables. 4-H and FFA are great organizations that help kids get outside and learn what they can do with soils and animals.
