Upcoming agricultural workshops in Skagit County

Skagit County is home to a $300 million agricultural industry.  This industry supports the growing demand for conventional and organic fresh to markets fruits & vegetables, as well as dairy and beef production.  We’re also home to important seed production.  To support these efforts, WSU has set up a series of specialized workshops to help participants in the agricultural industry improve results and help address regulatory concerns to help maintain the viability of production agriculture in western Washington.  Visit the WSU Extension website at WSU Skagit County Extension for all the workshop schedules and agendas.  The events include the Western Washington Seed Workshop on January 12, 2018, the 36th Annual Western Washington Potato Workshop on February 23, 2018 and the Western Washington Berry Workshop on March 23, 2018.  This year, the Skagit Ag Summit is scheduled for February 16, 2018 and deals with big issues including water, labor, economic viability, innovation & leadership.  All of these events are hosted by WSU at the Northwestern Washington Research & Extension Center located at 16650 S.R. 536 in Mount Vernon, Washington.  Skagit Farmers Supply is proud to be a gold Sponsor of all of these events as they directly help the efforts of production agriculture and many family farms in western Washington.  The fresh and healthy crops grown in this area are increasing in demand as consumers continue to seek more healthy alternatives.
